Maria comes from a long family line involved in dentistry. Her grandfather, Dr. Gregorio Foncseca, was the president of the Dental Federation of Central America and Panama. Dentistry has been a passion of hers since childhood. Maria attended a two-year course in Dental Arts at Chantilly Academy, then went to ODU to refine her artistic skills in dentistry. Maria loves to empathetically engage with patients and teach them the importance of their smile. She believes the job of a dental assistant is not to judge, but to lift the fallen, restore the broken, and heal the hurting. She hopes to share with students what 22 years of dentistry has taught her. In her spare time, you can find Maria with her dogs, in her garden, on her trike rolling to the beach or at a good concert with her husband.
